More Santa Monica At Dawn

I was here for less than 24 hours and spent most of my time running up and down the bike path; 13 miles in all. You see so much more of a place while running or biking. These were taken during this morning's run. I'm at LAX waiting for a plane to San Francisco. No rest for the wicked.

Question: Will Spazz and the Patriot be teaming up in SF for a joint blogging session?

To my California friends:
Please understand that my forays into your state are brief-sometimes for less that 24 hours-which does not allow a great deal of time for hob-nobbing and such. Martin, I was in Santa Monica for 12 hours. Spazz, I didn't get out of Court until after 8 and had a 7am flight. I'm working on the accessability thing. For example, I will be in Berkeley next week for 1 day. Perhaps we can arrange something?

Hello Patriot,
Depending on the Day of the week, we could have lunch at the Gratitude Cafe. If lunch isn't good, we can meet for coffee. just let me know your day and general location. If you're going to be at the courthouse there is a coffee shop 2 block away...

I have listened to the tape of this show off and on over the last (Jesus freaking Christ) 18 years and time has not been kind to the music. Although I have it on my ipod and hit the highlights from time to time. Nevertheless, I was at the show, my brain stewing in a chemical cocktailwich would have killed an ordinary mortal, and it made the boys sound like they were playing the music of angels.I was also on the floor in roughly the 10th row although there were no seats, just a mass of writhing humanity. Despite the tape, despite the mid level playing, it was still the best Dead show I ever saw. When that Dark Star started I thought my brain was going to explode. When they played Attic's for the encore, it did.
